New Zealand voters seem to think weed is more dangerous than suicide
Next year, you still won’t be able to smoke weed in New Zealand legally because it’s clearly too dangerous, but you’ll be able to kill yourself.
Preliminary results showed 65.2 percent of voters supported the End of Life Choice Act coming into force as a new law, which will allow terminally ill people with less than six months to live the opportunity to choose assisted dying if approved by two doctors.
Ironically, no amount of doctors on the planet are allowed to approve a patient taking marijuana as Kiwi voters seem to think that weed is more dangerous than killing yourself.
Preliminary election results released by the Electoral Commission on Friday afternoon show 1,114,485 Kiwis (46.1 percent) are in support of bringing the Cannabis Legalisation and Control Bill into force, with 1,281,818 (53.1 percent) against.
You’d think that maybe doctors would be able to prescribe marijuana to patients—especially terminal patients, but no, they can only prescribe Sativex, which treats muscle spasms related to multiple sclerosis or CBD products with less than 2% of other cannabinoids.
All other marijuana use is illegal in New Zealand under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975.
