Fact-checkers are notoriously horrible, unfunny people. They intentionally kill joy worldwide and likely kick puppies whenever they get a chance. But the fact that they fact-check satire just makes it funnier. Here are the top examples:

The Sith Lords at Lead Stories labeled it “fake news“, which automatically killed reach for the GT page on Facebook. How miserable these people’s lives must be!

Did U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris Say ‘White Lab Coats Are a Sign of Doctors’ Racism’? SNOPES says no, bigot!
3. Nashville bomber died from COVID-19 shortly after blowing himself up
Did the Nashville Christmas-Day bomber die from COVID right after he blew himself up? USA TODAY’s crack investigative team said no! No major news outlet has said that, so it’s not true!
4. Fauci now recommends face masks over your eyes so you can’t read his leaked emails
Did Fauci really recommend face masks over your eyes? Instagram says that post is “missing context”:
They say that because the emails were exposed through FOIA that they weren’t technically leaked, so they can sensor the hilarious article. Way to go Instagram fascists!
5. BREAKING: Adam Schiff reveals his daughter is dating the Trump whistleblower
Did Democratic U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff of California reveal that his daughter is dating the alleged whistleblower whose complaint against President Trump launched the impeachment inquiry? Lead Stories crack team of investigative journalists discovered that, no, Schiff didn’t tweet out that his daughter was dating the whistleblower he was working so hard to keep anonymous. It was all made up—it was a HOAX!

The prestigious celebrity site 9jajist (?) took issue with the breaking news that Jill Biden was arrested for elderly abuse stating “Well, these might sound funny to some of our readers. However, it’s truly disrespectful for Jill and her family.”

7. US Bobsled team renames their sled ‘Biden’ because nothing has taken America downhill faster
Perhaps the most fact-checked of our articles with USA Today, Latestly, and TMZ all piling on, Snopes made it clear that the US Bobsled team didn’t rename its sled “Biden”. It was just a joke!

8. BREAKING: Haitian President Jovenel Moïse to expose Clinton Foundation fraud tomorrow
Politifact says that headline is “Pants on fire!” and Fascbook labeled it as “False information”.
9. CNN: Elon Musk could threaten free speech on Twitter by literally allowing people to speak freely
How dare he!? Well, thankfully we have the AP to correct everyone with: “False. CNN aired no such report about Musk “threatening free speech,” and the chyron was digitally altered to add the text. The image purporting to be from a CNN broadcast originated on a satirical website.”
AFP fact-checked it too but were decent enough to put a link to a perma-link site.
10. Kentucky Derby winner declines White House invitation: ‘If I wanted to see a horse’s ass I would’ve come in second’
Reuters bravely fact-checked the obvious satire about the Kentucky Derby winner declining an invitation by the Biden White House because “If I wanted to see a horse’s ass I would’ve come in second”. As the indefatigable put it, the fact check makes it even funnier and we agree!
